Rostrum quite thickened, flattened towards the front and finely keeled behind, shorter than the pronotum. Pronotum elongate or at least not broader than long. Antennae inserted before the middle of the rostrum. Head without distinct temples. Body slender. One species in Europe.

Fairly elongate, black, rather shining species with dense, prostrate yellow or grey hairs. [Abb. 1] Antennae and legs yellowish; tarsi blackish. Rostrum longer than the the head, broadened towards the tip. Head (including the eyes) broader than the pronotum. Pronotum as long as wide or slightly longer, narrower than the elytra; pronotum densely and finely punctured, slightly rounded towards the sides, with obtuse angles. Scutellum semi-circular. Elytra densely punctured with the punctures twice as strong as those on the pronotum. In males the front and middle tibiae are inwardly curved towards the tip. Length 3-5 mm. Widely distributed from Asia Minor across the whole of Europe. In Central Europe widespread but quite rare and patchy. Mostly found in dry sandy habitats, less rare towards the east than the west. Adults can be beaten from pines from April to the middle of June. Larval development is in the male flowers. Pupation in the soil. ...attelaboides (Fabricius, 1787)
